Cutthroat Trout

Characteristics:

Cutthroat trouts need precise water conditions which is cool temperature, no pollution and lot's of food. They feed during mornings and evenings. Like other trout, the cutthroat trout will defend feeding territories in rivers and streams. Spawning takes place in the spring. Cutthroat trouts are native to North America west of the Rocky Mountains. They are highly sought after as gamefish.


Diet:

Cutthroat trouts feed on insects and aquatic insect larvae but they will also feed on any other animal which is small enough to swallow.
