Lake McGregor

Lake McGregor is a fairly large sized lake near Vulcan, Alberta. It has pike up to 30 pounds, walleye, perch up to 1 pound, whitefish up to 10 pounds. Some big rainbow trouts have been caught near the inlet canal on the north end of the lake. Lot's of big pike caught on the north end as well. Last summer was the first time that I've gone to lake McGregor in over six years and the first day out, I caught me an eleven pounder on a fairly small spoon. Walleye fishery is becoming quite good but don't forget... The walleye limit is zero so if you catch one, make sure you release it quickly.

Getting there: Travel east from High River via Highway 23 and Secondary Highway 542 for about 67 kilometres. From there, you can't possibly overlook the entrance to the north end of the lake.
