Here you can find Pikes weighing up to fifteen pounds and Walleye weighing up to ten pounds.
Grayling and Perch reach a weight up to about 1.5 pounds. These are mainly found between the
north and south Wabasca Lakes. The Wabasca river joins these two lakes together and then it flows north
to join the Peace river downstream of Fort Vermilion. The only road which the river can be accessed by
is via Highway 67 about 75 kilometres south of Fort Vermilion or about one hundred kilometres north of Loon
Lake on Highway 67. The Wabasca River parallels the Highway for the last forty kilometres and is only accessible
and navigable by jet boat throughout most of its length. There is some excellent Walleye and Perch fishing between
lakes after ice-out.
